I just received this copy of the cookbook, Houston Gourmet. It was written by Houston Chronicle food editor Ann Criswell.
The introduction to the book was written by Betty Ewing. She was the society editor at the Houston Chronicle for many years – documenting the growth of the fourth-largest city in the country.
I am currently working on an article about Betty. I went through her papers a few years ago.
