I am so excited that the wonderful book, Savoring Gotham in now out. My entry is about Jane Nickerson. She was the first food editor at the New York Times & one of my favorite food editors. She went on to be the food editor at the Lakeland Ledger.

Miami: A Food Biography
I am excited to announce that I just signed a book contract for a book about Miami food. It means an opportunity to study some of my favorite Florida food editors – Jane Nickerson, Jeanne Voltz & Virginia Heffington. The book proposal was based on the lectures I gave at Rollins College this past summer. It will be my Spring-Summer 2016 project with a few trips to Miami along the way.

Women’s Page Column in Gainesville Sun
I was happy to have my column about Florida food and the women’s pages of newspapers in the Gainesville Sun today. I am looking forward to speaking about the topic at the Matheson History Museum in Gainesville tomorrow afternoon.
