Women’s page editor turned publisher Marjorie Paxson’s papers have revealed a great deal about newspaper fashion industry. I was amazed to see how often the fashion editors traveled to cover fashion shows. Paxson – who was in Houston at the time – spent weeks in Europe, for example.

Media Report To Women: Marjorie Paxson & the Lack of Institutional Memory
Women’s page editor turned publisher Marjorie Paxson was largely overlooked when she died in June. I am filling that void by writing about her life and the problem of a lack of institutional memory by publishing this essay in the summer issue of the Media Report To Women. Paxson was one of six women featured in my book, Women Politicking Politely.
