I am really enjoying this book, Rebels in White Gloves which details the lives of women who were in Hillary’s class at Wellesley College. There are several connections to the book I am writing about well-behaved women in the 1950s and 1960s.

New Kay Clarenbach image
I just found this new Kay Clarenbach image from 1966. Kay had a great working relationship with the Wisconsin women’s page editors. I went through her papers at the University of Wisconsin a few years ago.

Thanks for the ILL staff at UCF for tracking down this great 1972 article about feminism that I will be using in my upcoming women and politics book. One source mentioned that a woman would never be president.

Women & Politics Book Update
My reviews are in for my book manuscript, Politicking Politely, are in. Great news – all three reviewers liked it. I will make revisions this fall and turn it in by December 1. The book will come out in 2017. The book focuses on women’s page editors and women in government in the 1950s and 1960s. Two of the women at the center of the book are above – Marie Anderson and Dorothy Jurney.
