UCF vs SMU

Yesterday, UCF beat SMU to win the conference championship. UCF is now going to the Liberty Bowl.

I have studied quite a bit about SMU because Dallas women’s page editor Vivian Castleberry graduated from that university – above is her yearbook. Later, the school gave her an honorary doctorate.

SMU gave me a grant several years ago to go through the papers of J.C. Penney, the owner of the department story chain. The store was the sponsor of the Penney-Missouri Awards that recognized the top women’s pages in the 1960s.

I like SMU but I am happy that UCF won the game!
