Celebrating Anniversary & Birthday on Sanibel Island

Lance (my frequent co-author about women’s page journalists) & I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary & my birthday on Sanibel Island. We enjoyed lunch at Doc Ford’s and I got to shop at Eileen Fisher.

We learned a lot about shells at the Bailey-Matthews Shell Museum – I highly recommend it. There was some interesting history such as the use of shells for currency and shell crafts for Valentine’s Day. The range of colors was amazing. There was even an activity room for children which Curtis loved. I bought a poster of shells found on the Island that now hangs in my writing corner and reminds me that we need to go back soon.

Lastly, we did lots of shelling and playing on the beach. A photo of some of my shells was posted on A Color Project.

I may have to start studying the history of the women’s pages of Sanibel Island.
