Women’s History Month, 2015
March is Women’s History Month. Last year, I blogged each day in March about top food editors from my book, The Food Section. This year I blogged for different publications for Women’s History Month.
I blogged for Ms Magazine about women’s page editor turned managing editor Carol Sutton.
I also blogged for Ms Magazine about feminist leader Roxcy Bolton. She was a good friend of Miami Herald women’s page editor Marie Anderson. I will speak about Roxcy at the 2015 Florida Historical Society’s Annual Meeting in St. Augustine.
I blogged for We’re History about Roxcy’s fight to name hurricanes for both men and women.
Lastly, I blogged for We’re History about how women were excluded from many restaurants and bars until the late 1960s and early 1970s.
