““Crusaders, Not Subordinates”: AEJMC Paper About Women Page Activism
Lance and I just learned that our paper “Crusaders, Not Subordinates: How Women’s Page Editors Worked to Change the Gender Climate Within APME and ASNE,” has been accepted for presentation at the 2015 AEJMC conference in San Francisco. The paper builds on the work Lance and I had published last summer in Journalism & Mass Communication Quarterly and was later included in a virtual themed issue.

Our AEJMC papers proves that women’s page editors were active in attempts to improve their status in the industry.
