In honor of pioneering woman in newspaper management Irene Nolan’s death, I wrote about the women who came after the “firsts.” (In Nolan’s case, she became a managing editor after Carol Sutton.)

I wrote about Nolan and the need to study those who came after the firsts in the current issue of the Historiography of Mass Communication.
