Talking about Mad Men & Working Women
I am looking forward to talking about Mad Men and Working Women: Feminist Perspectives on Historical Power, Resistance, and Otherness at UCF next week. Advertising women from the 1950s and 1960s were often graduates of home economics programs, a path they shared with women’s page journalists.

Talking About Mad Men
I had a great time in Winter Park yesterday talking about my Mad Men book at a Mad Men-themed event. Enjoyed talking about the important work that women did in the 1950s and 1960s, especially “well behaved women” like those in the women’s pages. Here is a nice blog post about the event.
