Milwaukee Journal Research Acceptance
Excited that the article that Lance & I wrote about the women’s page journalists of the Milwaukee Journal has been accepted for publication in an academic journal. Included in the article are Aileen Ryan and Peggy Daum.

My Poynter Book Review
My review of Mary McGrory: The First Queen of Journalism for Poynter has been published. McGrory would have worked with women’s page journalist Eleni Epstein at the Washington Star and political columnist Vera Glaser (whose column ran in the women’s pages) in covering Washington, D.C.

Repost: Cecily Brownstone & the Green Bean Casserole
Cecily Brownstone was the longtime food editor at the Associated Press who is include in The Food Section: Newspaper Women and the Culinary Community. I think of her every Thanksgiving because of her connection to the green bean casserole. The paperback version of our Mad Men and Working Women in now out in paperback. In it, there is a new revised conclusion which included the final season which was not included in our original book. My chapters include information about women and advertising history, the women’s pages and women’s clubs.
